About Attack Vector
We are parents who run an IT company and have a family who love technology. We understand the concerns that parents have with technology and the challenge of balancing the use of technology with the risks around the areas that this exposes our children to. We are not security experts but we are IT experts who are passionate about keeping children safe on the Internet.
This is one of the reasons that we created the Attack Vector site. There are lots of websites that review games and apps, reflect on the age appropriateness of these games and apps but there is not a website that looks at the games and apps from an attack perspective, looking at the areas that an online predator or online scammer can use.
Attack Vector looks at popular games and apps and reviews these based on things such as
- Can inappropriate usernames be created.
- What are the complexity requirements for the password.
- Does it verify your login details by sending you a code via text message or email.
- Does the app try and access your camera or photos.
- How safe is the online chat.
- Does it try and access location information.
- Are there any age verification requests.
We look at the app or game from a safety perspective, give it a rating as to how safe we think it is and highlight what safety things to be aware of as a parent.
